Test our apps. Earn the licence.

Three ways to earn a licence
The reward is always for useful testing, and it is always a code that gives you the full app for good.
A licence for the app you fixed
Report a crash, a freeze, lost work or a privacy weakness. Be the first to report it, and once the studio confirms it you get a free licence code for that app.
The app, before you test it
Apply for a monthly round. Testers the studio picks get a free licence code and a short test list. Work through it, send your notes, and the app stays yours.
Any XLUNA app you choose
The most useful report each month wins a free licence code for the XLUNA app of your choice, and top place in the hall of fame below.
Use the app. Write it up. Hear back.
Use it for real
Install any XLUNA app on its free trial and do what you would normally do with it.
Note what went wrong
Write down the steps, what you expected and what happened. A report someone else can repeat is worth most.
Send it to the studio
The form opens your own email app, ready to send. The studio tries your steps and replies. Licence codes go out by email.
Good reports, fairly found
Report these
- Crashes, freezes and features that do not do what they say
- Wrong results, lost settings or lost work
- Layout faults, unreadable text or controls you cannot reach
- Problems on a particular Windows version, screen size or scale
- Privacy or security weaknesses, sent privately to the studio only
Never do these
- Reverse engineer or modify an app, or bypass its licence or trial
- Test on devices or accounts that are not yours
- Probe the Microsoft Store, this website or any other service
- Publish a security weakness before it has been fixed
- Sell or pass on a licence code
Nothing here is ever offered for a rating or review
Whether you rate an app on the Microsoft Store is your own choice. A rating or review never earns a reward, never improves your chances and is never a condition of keeping a licence code. If you do rate an app, say what you really think.
Send a report or apply to test
Report a bug
Join a test round
Each month the studio picks testers from these applications. Being picked means a free licence code for that app and a short test list.

Plain terms for XLUNA Testers
1. Promoter
The promoter is Hasnain Butt Akhtar, trading as XLUNA, England, United Kingdom. Contact: contact@xlunastudio.com.
2. Who can take part
Anyone aged 18 or over, worldwide, except where local law restricts entry. Employees, contractors and immediate family of the promoter may not take part. Entry is free. No purchase is necessary, and buying an app does not improve your chances.
3. How to enter
Send a bug report or a test round application through the forms on this page, or by email to the same address. One bug per report. The bug must be in a current version of an XLUNA app from the Microsoft Store, found through normal use on a device you own or are entitled to use.
4. What is excluded
- Anything found by reverse engineering or modifying an app, or by bypassing its licence, trial or protection.
- Testing the Microsoft Store, this website or any other service, or a device or account that is not yours.
- Reports that cannot be repeated, are already known, ask for a new feature rather than describe a fault, or concern a version that is not current.
- Any report or application connected with a rating or review on any store.
5. Rounds
Each round runs for a calendar month and closes at 23:59 UK time on its last day. Anything received later counts towards the next round.
6. Judging
This is a test of skill, not a prize draw. The promoter judges bug reports on impact, on whether the steps lead to the bug every time, and on how quickly the report lets the bug be found and fixed. Where a bug is reported more than once, only the first report counts. The promoter chooses test round testers by how well their PC and planned use suit the app. The promoter's decision is final. If no report meets a reasonable standard, no best of the month prize is awarded for that round.
7. Rewards
- Serious bug: the first person to report a confirmed crash, freeze, loss of work or privacy weakness receives a licence code for that app, once per person per app.
- Test round: each tester picked receives a licence code for the app before testing, and keeps the app. The number of testers varies by round.
- Best of the month: one winner per round receives a licence code for one XLUNA app of their choice.
- Every licence code is a Microsoft Store promotional code. It is free, gives the full app with no time limit once redeemed on your Microsoft account, and must be redeemed before the expiry date in the email that delivers it.
- There is no cash alternative. Codes may not be sold or transferred. You are responsible for any tax arising in your own country.
8. Ratings and reviews
No reward is offered for a rating or review on any store, and none is ever a condition of a reward or of keeping a licence. The studio will not ask you for one in return for anything.
9. Announcing and claiming
Rewards are sent by email within fourteen days of a bug being confirmed or a round closing. Names appear on this page only under the name you choose. If a best of the month winner does not reply within fourteen days, the prize may go to the next best report.
10. Security reports
Send privacy or security weaknesses only to the studio, and do not share them anywhere else until the studio confirms they are fixed.
11. Your data
Reports and applications reach the studio as ordinary email, carrying your email address and what you wrote. They are used only to investigate the report, reply to you and run this programme. They are not sold, shared for marketing or added to any mailing list, and are deleted twelve months after the round closes. Ask to have yours removed sooner at any time. See the privacy policy.
12. Your report
You keep any rights in what you write. By sending a report you allow the promoter to use it to fix the app and to describe the fix in release notes, without naming you unless you agree.
13. General
The promoter may amend these rules or suspend the programme where reasonably necessary, and will publish any change on this page. This programme is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Microsoft. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Last updated: 7 November 2026.
